Compendia Traditional Games in Greenwich
Market was opened nearly 10 years ago. The shop sells traditional
games and puzzles and has built a reputation for stocking a very
wide range of games from around the world.
Part of the original concept of Compendia
Traditional Games was to commission bespoke products and to make
games that we couldn’t get hold of.
In the workshop the Carrom boards are
cut, polished, printed and framed by
Rob Toogood, the guv'nor
Philippa Toogood, daughter number three
Theo, the designer
and
Sam Jones, the artist.
We’ve started to make Carrom
boards, but over the next year we’ll be adding all sorts of
wooden games to our range. These will all be traditional games,
but some of them have fallen out of favour in the twentieth century
so you may not have heard of them before.
